I had a couple of Birthdays that I needed to make cards for ... a girly girl card and a manly card.. now I am not really good at making manly cards so I tried my hand at a sketch out in blogger land and this is what I came up with... I covered chip board stars with designer paper and sanded/inked the edges. It's a very simple card but I really like how it turned out and hope that the recipient will too! I used Stampin' Up DSP from the Autumn Meadows pack.. I also used the sentiment from the Happiest Birthday Wishes set and very vanilla CS. The brads are ones that I had on hand (not SU) and I also used the circles nestabilities in 2 different sizes.. lastly I used a small star punch also not SU...

This second card (also found whilst blurfing) I liked so much I decided to make two! Now, I usually do that at the same time.. in assembly line fashion.. but for this one I needed a card quick so I made one card and
then decided to make another one to have on hand! Silly I know but the second one worked up a little faster than the first one did so there's that! I used a
Pear Pizazz CS base.. the
Textured Stripes embossing folder sponging over top for added dimension .. the sizzix
Movers and Shapers using the full heart shape cutting out of both the pear pizzaz and the textured stripes layers. After placing the embossed layer down I added the
pearls around the heart which makes it look so pretty! For the flowers over the heart I used the stamp set
Simply Soft which is a hostess set in the SU catalog and Idea book... I cut them out and used dimensionals for added dimension. The DSP that I added is from the
Pink Pirouette Paper Pack and I used it for the bottom layer as well as for inside the heart so that when you open the card it will be there and I used the set
Afterthoughts for the Happy Birthday sentiment. For the ribbon I used the
Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and the technique is to lay down a piece of
red line sticky tape over the embossed CS and the DSP right where they meet, then you start laying the ribbon down making little loops.. I like mine a little wonky so that it's not in a perfectly straight line. The sentiment at the bottom was created using the
Four Frames stamp set, the word Enjoy from the
Your a Gem stamp set .. 5 pearls and the
Decorative Label Punch then I added dimensions to the back and placed it on the card. Lastly I added ribbon bows just to cover the ends of the flowers and there you have it!

I had already decided who would get the second card too so I guess so much for having an extra one on hand!! Maybe I should make 3 or 4 of each card from now on!! lol!!
Enjoy your day and Happy Stamping!
